MEBANE, N.C. -- Mebane City Council members are expected to hear a recommendation about fluoride in drinking water on Monday night.

City staff is expected to recommend continuing to use fluoride. Mebane shares its water with Graham.

The Graham City Council voted earlier this year to stop adding fluoride, calling it a cancer risk.

Unless Mebane city leaders vote to end fluoride use, it will remain in the water in both Mebane and Graham.
