HAYWOOD, N.C. – A North Carolina mother is accused of running a prostitution ring out of her home while children were living there.

The Mountaineer reported that Barbara Dionne Gray, 42, of Waynesville, faces multiple charges after her arrest earlier this week, including felony solicitation for prostitution and maintaining a dwelling for prostitution.

The arrest came after an undercover operation by the Waynesville Police Department. A neighbor told WLOS that the suspect had a young boy and girl living in the home.

The mother faces allegations of soliciting prostitution and running her business from her home.

One neighbor said she became suspicious seeing people going in and out of a trailer in Gray’s backyard even during late hours.

The suspect was placed in the Haywood County Detention Center but posted a $5,000 bond. She has court planned for later this month.

The Department of Social Services is involved with the welfare of the children.
