SALEM, Mass. — A Massachusetts girl is facing charges after she allegedly bit part of an officer’s ear off during an arrest Sunday morning.

Emma Wiley, 19, is charged with mayhem, assault and battery causing serious bodily injury, assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, threatening to commit a crime, disorderly conduct and false identification, according to WFXT.

Police say Wiley got in a fight with another woman at a local tavern when authorities were called. Patrolwoman Jessica Rondinelli was helping her into her police car when she bit part of her ear off.

Doctors were unable to reattach the ear and Rondinelli will need surgery.
