A man has cut off his ears and colored his eyeballs to make himself look just like a parrot. And now he wants to turn his nose into a beak.

The Daily Mail of London reported that 56-year-old Ted Richards recently endured a 6-hour operation so he could transform himself into his favorite animal.

The Bristol man also has a newly shaped head, 150 magnets and piercings in his hands, a split tongue and 110 tattoos.

After cutting off his ears, the parrot-obsessed man reportedly gave him to a friend. It’s all a tribute to his pet parrots, Teaka, Jake, Timneh, Ellie and Bubi.

“I think it looks really great. I love it,” he said. “It’s the best thing that has happened to me. I am so happy it’s unreal, I can’t stop looking in the mirror.”

But a surgeon said he was horrified by the operation.

“As an accredited plastic surgeon you have to have a great sense of moral and ethical responsibility. I can only assume the ethical code and moral compass of whoever did this does not,” said Marc Pacifico, a consultant plastic surgeon and member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.
