Man killed in Randolph County shooting identified

ASHEBORO, N.C. — Deputies have identified the man shot and killed at his home Saturday in Randolph County.

The Greensboro News & Record reported that Charles Franklin York Jr., 43, was found dead from a gunshot wound to his chest around 6:45 p.m. in his front yard at 2684 Danny Bell Road.

Deputies said the shooting appears to be in self-defense, but did not give details surrounding the incident. Officials said no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
