Man killed in Alamance County crash identified

GRAHAM, N.C. — Authorities have identified a man who was killed in a single-vehicle car wreck Sunday in Alamance County.

Jerry McCant, 73, of Snow Camp, died after officials said his 2012 Ford Fusion crossed a lane, overturned and landed in a ditch.

The crash was reported shortly after 1 p.m. in the 2200 block of N.C. 87 in Graham shortly after 1 p.m. Sunday, according to Alamance County EMS dispatchers.

An official said the victim may have fallen asleep. His car is totaled.

Traffic had been closed, but has since reopened. Officials have not released any other details.
