WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – A man who was injured in a crash involving a truck and a Winston-Salem police patrol car has died from his injuries.
Alan Edward Dunnagan, 68, of Winston-Salem, died Saturday as a result of the wreck earlier this month.
Police said the victim was driving a Chevrolet S10 truck which was involved in a crash with a 2012 Chevrolet Caprice Winston-Salem marked patrol car.
It happened at the intersection of Reynolda and Polo roads on the night of May 13. Police said the two vehicles “collided,” but did not give any other details.
Both drivers were injured, according to police. Winston-Salem Police Sergeant J.W. Leone was taken to the hospital and treated and released.
The driver of the truck was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and originally listed in stable condition.
Dunnagan continued to get medical treatment, but died on Saturday, according to police.
The incident has been referred to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol for investigation, according to police. The investigation is ongoing.
