HIGH POINT, N.C. — Authorities said a 43-year-old man was hit by a train and killed while walking down the train tracks Sunday morning in High Point.
Police said Lawrence Edward Thomas was fatally hit around 7:50 a.m. at the intersection of Brentwood Street and Kivett Drive. Police said he died at the scene.
Officials said Thomas was walking down the tracks and was hit by the train from the back. He may have not heard the train because of headphones he had on, according to authorities.
