Man attacks K-9, officers during arrest

GREENVILLE, S.C. — A man faces multiple charges after he allegedly kicked and hit a police dog while officers were trying to arrest him.

According to WHNS, deputies went to the home of 21-year-old James Tyler Baucom early Saturday morning to serve warrants for traffic offenses.

Baucom refused to exit the home and officers went in with a K-9 to arrest him.

He was located hiding in a closet and punched the K-9 in the face. He then kicked the dog twice and began fighting with officers.

Baucom was eventually taken into custody and charged.

He was charged with resisting arrest, cruelty to a police dog, receiving stolen goods, conspiracy, grand larceny, burglary and multiple other charges.

The K-9 and officers were not injured during the incident.
