WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — U.S. Marshals have arrested a man in connection with his alleged involvement in a 2013 accident that killed a child, as well as for drug and firearm charges.

Sedrick Raheem Belk, 20, was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force (JFTF) with the assistance of the Winston-Salem Police Department shortly before 3 p.m. Thursday.

The JFTF has been looking for Belk since January after warrants were obtained in connection with an accident last year that claimed the life of a 2-year-old child and injured three other children.

The crash happened on Feb. 14, 2013 along Star Ridge Road in Moore County and claimed the life of 2-year-old Julius Johnson, according to WTVD.

Belk was also wanted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives on unrelated warrants of drug conspiracy and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

Belk was placed in the Forsyth County Detention Center and held without bond pending his initial appearance in federal court Friday.
