REIDSVILLE, N.C. — A man wanted for a parole violation for a New York homicide was arrested in Reidsville Wednesday night.
Jermaine Moorhead is charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, felony extradition of a fugitive from another state, simple possession of marijuana, and resisting, obstructing and delaying an officer.
Reidsville police responded to the 500 block of Martin Street Wednesday after receiving a tip about a stolen motorcycle, according to a release.
After obtaining probable cause for a warrant to search the Martin Street home, officers recovered the stolen motorcycle.
The resident of the home, who initially identified himself as Damien Muirhead, was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle. After further investigation, authorities determined that the man’s name was actually Jermaine Moorhead, who was wanted for a parole violation in New York.
Moorhead was placed under a $750,000 secured bond and his extradition to New York is pending.
