Man arrested in fatal Fourth of July stabbing in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro police have arrested a man who allegedly stabbed two women on July 4.

James David Footman, 43, is charged with first-degree murder for fatally  stabbing 57-year-old Cathy Ann Littles and attempted first-degree murder of 48-year-old Vickie Genene Poole.

Upon arrival at Littles’ apartment on July 4, police found two women suffering from multiple stab wounds and lacerations.

Littles was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. Poole remains hospitalized and is in stable condition.

Motive is unclear and the investigation is ongoing.
