Man arrested in connection with Eden shooting

EDEN, N.C. — Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting that injured one person on Tuesday.

Steven Antwan Malloy, 25, is charged with attempted first-degree murder.

According to Eden police, Malloy was taken into custody at about 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Malloy is accused of shooting 26-year-old Jalessa Settle in the abdomen.

The shooting happened on Tuesday afternoon on Price Street and resulted in a lockdown at Douglass Elementary School.

Bail for Malloy has been set at $150,000. He is scheduled to appear in court June 10.
