DENTON, N.C. — A man was airlifted to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center with serious injuries Wednesday after an SUV he was working on reportedly fell on him.
According to The Lexington Dispatch, rescuers were dispatched shortly after 3:15 p.m. to a report of a man who was pinned underneath a vehicle on Cherry Blossom Lane off Yates Road.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, the man had already been freed from under the Ford Expedition by his friends, The-Dispatch reports.
Capt. Travis Morris with the Denton Volunteer Fire Department tells The-Dispatch the man was under the SUV when “the jack fell out” and “it landed on his upper chest.”
Morris said the man, who was in his 50s and lived at the address where the incident occurred, was pinned for about five minutes, The-Dispatch reports.
The man’s name was not immediately available.
