Man airlifted to hospital after shooting in Rowan County

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — A man was airlifted to the hospital Wednesday morning after a shooting in Salisbury.

Deputies with the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1032 Glock Court at 5:30 a.m. in reference to reports of a shooting.

At this time, authorities said in a release that they believe that multiple suspects broke into the home and demanded money from the victim before shooting him in the abdomen.

The victim was taken by AirCare to Baptist Hospital for treatment. There is no word on his current condition.

Investigators are still working to process the crime scene, but at this point, they said they believe the victim was targeted.
