Man airlifted to hospital after hit-and-run in Burlington

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police say a man was airlifted to the hospital after a hit-and-run in Burlington.

According to police, officers responded shortly before 11:15 p.m. Thursday to a report of a man lying in the roadway in the 2200 block of North Church Street.

When they arrived, police said they found Justin Troy Holland, 23, of Burlington, who had been struck by a vehicle.

Police say Holland was flown to UNC Chapel Hill Hospital, where he is in critical condition according to authorities.

The vehicle that struck Holland left the scene before officers arrived, police said.

There is currently no suspect or suspect vehicle description.
