CLAYTON, N.C. – A North Carolina man accused of accidentally shooting and killing his teenage girlfriend has died in a shooting.

WRAL reported that 42-year-old Derrick Williams was found dead after a reported shooting early Sunday morning at a house party in Clayton.

Williams was charged earlier this year with second-degree murder in connection to the death of 18-year-old Moesha Lockamy.

In that incident, Williams allegedly shot his girlfriend in the chest on accident. They were allegedly playing with guns at his home. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

No arrests have been made in the death of Williams and the incident remains under investigation.

Williams had court planned this week in connection to the charge he was facing.
