CUSTER COUNTY, Idaho — A massive earthquake shook central Idaho on Tuesday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The magnitude-6.5 quake was centered 18.7 miles south-southeast of Stanley, Idaho, and 78.3 miles southwest of Boise, Idaho.

It was reported at 4:52 p.m. local time (7:52 EDT).

Thousands reported feeling shaking in the region.
