GREENSBORO, N.C. — A new group made up of community leaders, business owners and volunteers called “Love Greensboro” said they are proud to call Greensboro their home and want other to be too.

They said they want people to be aware of what the city offers and bring people together to help make it better.

“There’s a lot of energy to it and there’s a lot of talent to it,” said Sam Bridges, with Love Greensboro. “But maybe not everybody knows about it.”

Members said Love Greensboro has been in the works for about a year. The group met for the first time last week.

“We’re trying to make it so it’s not just Elm Street,” Group member Dereck Glass. “It reaches out to Battleground, Randleman Road, all points north, south, east and west.”

Group members said they admit Greensboro has come a long way in recent years.

“You used to not come downtown at night and now you can’t find a parking spot,” Glass said.

Love Greensboro said the city has even more room to grow and they’re ready to be a part of it all.

The group is inviting anyone to join. You can find them by searching LoveGreensboro on Facebook.  Their website is lovegreensboro.com.
