Local woman killed, brother seriously injured in head-on crash in Louisiana

OAK GROVE, La. -- A two-vehicle accident near Oak Grove, La., claimed the life of a local woman Tuesday and resulted in the arrest of a man for vehicular homicide.

Gabriel Snyder, 22, was driving a 2011 Nissan on Louisiana Highway 2 when 43-year-old James Bell crossed the center line in his Ford F-150 and struck the vehicle.

Lydia Snyder, 32, of Greensboro, a passenger in the Nissan, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the News Star. Her brother Gabriel Snyder was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

As of Wednesday evening, Gabriel Snyder was listed in stable condition, according to friends of the family.

Bell, of Oak Grove, La., was impaired at the time of the crash and was arrested.
