ELON, N.C. -- It's a Christmas miracle come early for Elon grandmother, Barbara.

"I've had people do nice things but this puts the icing on the cake," she said.

Barbara says the roof of her home had fallen into disrepair, causing leaks throughout the house.

"It was bad," she said. "It was leaking in just about every room, over my bed, in the hall."

She went to All About Roofing, Co. in Elon with $300 to see what they could do. Owner Jeremy Lee assessed her roof and quickly realized $300 would not even begin to address the roof's problems.

So, Lee decided to give Barbara a roof completely free of charge.

"God puts people in our lives that need help," he said. "Barbara was one of those people that needed our help."

Barbara says there was no way she could've come up with enough money on her own, as a lot of her finances have gone to medical bills for her grandson, who she says had two heart transplants.

This is the third year All About Roofing has given a free roof to someone in need in the community.

"The Christmas spirit is part of it," Lee said. "But mainly, the community's taken really good care of us and we just wanted to give something back. And this is the best way we know how to give back because this is our profession."

Barbara says it's the kindest gift she's ever received.
