The Social Security Administration has released the top 10 boy and girl names for 2013 in North Carolina.
“William” comes in at No. 1 for the boys, “Mason” at No. 2 and Elijah at No. 3.

Carolyn W. Colvin, Acting Commissioner of Social Security, announced last week that Noah and Sophia were the most popular baby names in the U.S.
“Noah” unseated “Jacob’s” 14-year reign to become the top name for boys. “Liam” landed at No. 2 followed by “Jacob” in third, then “Mason” and “William.”
“Sophia” topped the list of girls’ names for the third consecutive year followed by “Emma,” “Olivia,” “Isabella” and “Ava.”
