GERMANTON, N.C. --Deputies are searching for a third suspect after an early morning home invasion that resulted in two people being shot and one of them killed on Friday.
Deputies are searching for Garrette Wayne Bunch Jr., 25, of 4616 River Gate Dr., Clemmons in connection with the deadly home invasion.
Stokes County Sheriff Mike Marshall said deputies responded around 1:45 a.m. to 1015 Rill Road, where the two male victims were found shot.
Brian Keith McGee, 37, of Winston-Salem, was pronounced dead at the scene. Brandon Ray Hill, 28, of Germanton, was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition as of last update.
Around 9:30 a.m., Marshall confirmed two suspects were arrested at the Best Way Inn at 109 Vesta St. in King. The suspects were identified as Garrette Wayne Bunch, 58, of Clemmons, and Brandi Leigh Robinson, 28, of Lexington.
Mugshots were not immediately available.
The suspects were arrested after an employee at the inn saw the story on the news and recognized the described Toyota Tacoma pickup truck the suspects were traveling in, Marshall said.
Marshall said detectives believe the suspects entered the home, forced the victims to the ground and shot them both with what he described as a "long gun."
"For Stokes County this is something that is rare. The last home invasion I can remember is probably eight, ten years ago," Marshall said. "This is a peaceful community."
Deputies said two women were also inside the home at the time, however they hid in a bathroom and were not harmed.
No motive for the shooting has been released, but Marshall said the suspects knew the victims and it was not a random act.
Each suspect is charged with one count of murder.
The SBI and sheriff's offices in Forsyth and Davidson counties are assisting in the investigation.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the suspects is asked to call 911 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8506.
