Lexington woman charged with stealing jewelry

LEXINGTON, N.C. — A woman has been arrested on charges that she stole jewelry from a Lexington home.

Deputies say they began investigating the report of stolen jewelry at a home on Burkhart Road on Sept. 12, 2011.

Cristen Allison Carter was arrested in connection with the theft last week, deputies said.

The suspect is charged with one count of felony larceny and one count of obtaining property by false pretenses.

She was jailed under a $10,000 bond and has a court date set for April.
