Lexington woman charged with illegally obtaining prescriptions

LEXINGTON, N.C. — A Lexington woman has been arrested on drug trafficking charges after deputies say she illegally obtained prescriptions from a local pharmacy.

Deputies say Brandy Caulder, 32, was arrested Tuesday at Tyro Family Pharmacy on N.C. Highway 150 after she got three oxycodone prescriptions amounting to 108 pills illegally.

The drugs had an estimated street value of $540, deputies said.

Caulder is charged with obtaining a controlled substance by fraud, trafficking opiates and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The suspect is being held in the Davidson County Jail under a $100,000 secured bond.
