HIGH POINT, N.C. — Dan and Carol Krawiec survived an EF-3 tornado that hit their Hampton Park home five years ago this weekend.

“The room we were in you could feel the furniture in the house beating up against the sheet rock,” said Dan. “I never expected the whole second floor of the house to be completely gone.”

But through it all the Krawiec’s say they learned life lessons about realizing what’s important in the short time we are given.

“It did make us find out the difference between needing and wanting,” Dan says. “We do appreciate life more and we try to spend more time with family.”
