HELENA, Mont. — A lawmaker in Montana wants to take yoga pants off the streets.
Rep. David Moore introduced a bill Tuesday that would have expanded the definition of indecent exposure to include garments that show off a person’s buttocks, genitals or pelvis.
The Republican argued that yoga pants should be illegal because the clothing is provocative.
Members of the House Judiciary Committee voted to table the bill but not before giggling about it first.
Under Montana’s current state law, a person who is cited for indecent exposure three times can be sentenced to life in jail and a $10,000 fine.
