GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Kernersville man is facing charges after he allegedly robbed the Speedway Service Station at 3110 Sandy Ridge Road twice this year, according to Greensboro police.

Police say 29-year-old James David Byrd entered the business armed with a handgun on Sept. 28 and May 25, demanding money and merchandise.

Byrd was linked to the robberies after officers from the Kernersville Police Department identified him as the primary suspect in local robberies. He was charged Thursday with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon.

No one was injured during the robberies and Byrd is in the Forsyth County Jail on a $152,500 secured bond.
