KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — Firefighters have rescued a 14-year-old boy who was trapped in the mud at the bottom of a ravine.
WSOC reported that Kannapolis firefighters were called to the scene Wednesday night in reference to a boy stuck chest-deep in the mud.
The victim’s friends said they were taking a shortcut to another neighborhood when he walked down a hill toward a pool of standing water.
The friends said he thought the ground was solid enough that he could walk across it, but quickly became stuck.
Friends went to a nearby house and asked a resident to call 911.
