Today is “Batman Day” and at least two businesses in the Triad are celebrating.
Geeksboro Coffeehouse Cinema in Greensboro is showing a special screening of “Batman: The Dark Knight Returns” and Ssalefish Comics in Winston-Salem is offering a 10 percent discount on Batman books.
At Geeksboro, the special Batman screening starts at 10 p.m. The coffeehouse said on Facebook that 100 percent of each $5 ticket will go toward The Wayne Foundation, a non-profit seeking to protect children from commercial sexual exploitation.
At Ssalefish, any Batman paperback or hardcover book is 10 percent off. But customers have to do their best Batman voice and say, “I’m Batman.” That offer is good until 8 p.m.
Batman Day is an annual event honoring Batman, celebrating all things Batman from comics to video games and more, according to DC Comics.
