GREENSBORO, N.C. — It’s official: Jeff Varner and Kelly Wiglesworth aim to return to television’s “Survivor.”

But first, the Greensboro natives and former cast members of the CBS competitive reality series need enough viewer votes to qualify.

After weeks of buzz on social media, CBS announced after Wednesday night’s broadcast of “Survivor: Worlds Apart” that its fall season will feature a select group of former cast members who didn’t win.

The show has narrowed the eligible contestants to 32 — 16 women and 16 men. Over the next two weeks, voters will get to choose which 20 will return to compete in season 31, titled “Survivor: Second Chance.” They can vote for 10 men and 10 women daily, until May 20.
