HIGH POINT, N.C. — Alcohol Law Enforcement said it has a big breakthrough in the investigation into the death of Mario Mayorga, the High Point University student hit and killed while walking on Business 85 in late April.
Now, a witness has come forward that the ALE said could help explain how the 19-year-old likely got intoxicated.
That witness claims to have seen Mayorga drinking at a bar in downtown Greensboro.
Now the ALE said it is working to figure out what bartender may have been serving Mayorga alcohol.
The ALE said the fact that no one who was with Mayorga that night will come forward has been a big roadblock in the investigation.
They said they hope this will help bring some clarity to the case.
