WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Officials with Inmar technology company said they are staying in Winston-Salem and adding hundreds of jobs.

The company announced it is moving its headquarters downtown to the Piedmont Triad Research Park, putting all its departments together.

Authorities said the company currently employs around 700 people and keeping it in Winston-Salem was not easy.

Officials said the company was targeted by several states because of its high paying jobs. Company authorities said the average salary is $72,000 a year.

Inmar CEO David Mounts says the company has grown and changed a lot since starting here as a coupon clearing company 32 years ago.

"We are a very advanced technology company that provides complicated transition systems and apps and software for 1,700 retailers and brands and that requires a very strong technology focus and we need the right environment to initiate in," he said.

Gayle Anderson with the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce said he helped work for months on the incentives package to keep Inmar in Winston-Salem.

"This will be incredibly important for increasing the vitality of downtown," he said.

Inmar officials said they hope the new home will help the company expand in a growing and competetive industry -- that is now a strong part of the fabric of Winston-Salem.
