DUCK, N.C. — A humpback whale temporarily grounded itself Wednesday off the coast of North Carolina.
The Town of Duck, N.C., shared photos of the incident on its Facebook page.
Town officials wrote: “This humpback whale was temporarily grounded in Duck this morning, but thankfully was able to set itself free and swim back to its pod! Other whales could be seen past the sandbar. This #WhaleTale had a happy ending!”
