The shooting took place after 6:30 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott on Wendover Avenue.

The man, who police have been unable to identify, was shot inside a room on the second floor, investigators said.

“It's a very busy corridor with a lot of business. It's not typical to see this type of assault,” said Lt. J.W. Thompson with Greensboro Police.

The victim was shot in the leg and taken to Moses Cone Hospital to be checked out, police said.

Investigators found the victim in the breezeway on the first floor. He was conscious but could not tell officers what happened, police said.
