Homemade cockroach-killing flamethrower ignites small apartment fire

CENTRALIA, Wash. — A Washington resident set a small apartment fire Monday morning while trying to kill cockroaches with a homemade flamethrower, according to KOMO.

Crews responded to a small commercial structure fire call and determined that the resident was using a lighter and bug spray to create a homemade flamethrower to kill cockroaches.

By the time officials got to the apartment, the fire was already extinguished.

There were no reported injuries – cockroaches included.
