WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The last week of Christmas shopping can pay off for procrastinators. Typically the week leading up to Christmas, stores slash prices to unload their inventory.

"We are finding some good deals," said shopper Catherine Duffy at Hanes Mall, were many stores on Tuesday had cut prices 40 to 70 percent. "You may not get what you were looking for but you can get a good substitute."

Online deals can be found too with many retailers offering free shipping on Wednesday. Even Christmas cards were marked down to 40 percent on the popular card site Shutterfly. With express shipping you can receive Christmas cards in two days.

"Procrastinating pays off sometimes," said Kelley Slayden, shopping with mom Claudette. Both admit they are last minute shoppers. "We are those people," Kelley said.
