High Point University to host lecture by masculinity researcher

HIGH POINT, N.C. – High Point University’s Women’s and Gender Studies will host Dr. Michael Kimmel, who will present a lecture, titled “Mars, Venus, or Planet Earth? Women and Men on Campus in a New Millennium.”

School officials said the event takes place at 7 p.m. Feb. 6 in the Phillips Hall Auditorium. It is free and open to the public.

Kimmel is a leading researcher on masculinity studies in the United States and has authored more than 20 volumes.

Kimmel’s work includes “Changing Men: New Directions in Research on Men and Masculinity,” “The Politics of Manhood,” “The History of Men,” and more.
