HIGH POINT, N.C. — High Point University is removing Bill Cosby’s name from its Board of Advisors amid growing sexual assault allegations.
“In the best interest of all parties, we are removing his name from our Board of Advisors until all information on this matter is available,” said HPU Director of Media Relations Pam Haynes.
Cosby spoke at the 2007 HPU graduation ceremony based on his numerous professional accomplishments.
Former supermodel Janice Dickinson is the most recent in a handful of women who have accused Cosby of sexual assault — allegations the 77-year-old comedian has repeatedly said are untrue.
For nine years, Cosby has been accused of sexual assault by women who say they were the victims.
He has never been prosecuted.
