HIGH POINT, N.C. — High Point police investigators say they are still conducting interviews and collecting evidence to find the shooter and determine if four shootings overnight are related.

The first shooting was reported Wednesday morning at 6 a.m. but reportedly happened around 11 p.m. Tuesday. Witnesses say they heard what they thought were fireworks along the 1300 block of Furlough Avenue but Wednesday morning discovered multiple bullet holes in three cars parked along the street.

Tuesday night at about 11:30,  officers responded to 2405 Van Buren St. to shots fired into a home. No one was inside at the time. A shots fired call was reported early Wednesday morning on North University Parkway. No one was injured.

At about 2 a.m., police were called to Thissell Street where a woman was struck while inside her bed with her children.

Her brother Corey Ray said his sister was struck in the back. She has been transported to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries

“My niece and nephew, they were right beside her and it could have hit them. Thank God it didn’t though,” Ray said.
