HIGH POINT, N.C. — High Point police arrested a second person in connection to the fatal shooting that happened late Wednesday.
Dominiq Marquan Deloach, 18, of High Point was charged with homicide, robbery with a firearm, first degree burglary and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Police found Dennis Wayne Williams, 57, in a home at 1611 N. Hamilton St. with a gunshot wound Wednesday night.
The initial investigation indicated that the victim heard Michael Scott Moore, 34, outside his door yelling for help, according to police.
When Williams opened the door, Moore rushed past him into the residence.
Police said shots were fired from outside the home.
Williams was struck by one of the bullets and later died at High Point Regional Hospital.
The investigation indicated that the incident stemmed from an attempted robbery at Moore’s home, located at 1606 N. Hamilton St.
Based on evidence found at Moore’s home, police said he was arrested on drug charges.
Moore is being held under a $100,000 bond.
A 15-year-old male suspect was also taken into custody and charged with homicide. His name has not been released.
It is still unclear whether the 15-year-old will be charged as an adult or a juvenile.
