GREENSBORO, N.C. — A High Point man accused in the 2009 death of his foster mom is expected to accept a plea arrangement Thursday, according to the Greensboro News & Record.
Carlos Ferdinand Olan, 32, faces a charge of first-degree murder in the death of 72-year-old Julia Rhodes.
Deputies responded to Rhodes’ home, located on Mariondale Drive, on Dec. 19, 2008, and found her suffering from serious injures. Investigators determined the injuries were consistent with an assault and charged Olan with attempted first-degree murder.
Rhodes died on Jan. 8, 2009, and police changed the charge to first-degree murder.
