HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Stephanie Taylor of High Point had quite the wake-up alarm this morning.
"I rolled over and it dripped on my face," said Taylor. "Rain was coming through the ceiling. My brother tried to walk to school and couldn't cross the road because the entire road was covered in about four inches of water."
Taylor lives Ferndale Boulevard, just across from High Point Central High School.
Just down the street, David Marshall knew he'd have a problem as soon as he woke up.
"I could hear how noisy it was on the roof. It was an absolute downpour on top of all the other rain we've been having. When I got downstairs, the water was already coming up in the basement, about six inches in the deepest part. There's not a lot you can do at that point," Marshall said.
