Haw River man found with nearly 7 pounds of marijuana, $70K in cash

RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — A Haw River man was was arrested in Randolph County on several drug charges.

On Jan. 8, Randolph County sheriff’s authorities conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for traffic violations.

During the traffic stop, the driver gave consent to search the vehicle. While searching the vehicle, officers located and seized 6.7 pounds of marijuana, a small amount of methamphetamine and $71,132. The street value of the marijuana seized is approximately $6,700.

Cristobal De Jesus Martinez Carbajal, 23, of 3315 NC Hwy 119 Lot 35, Haw River, was charged with felony possession marijuana, possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled substance and possession marijuana paraphernalia.

He is being held under a $75,000 secured bond.
