WILMINGTON, N.C. — A Hollywood actor known for his role as “Shooter McGavin” is facing DWI charges in Wilmington.
WWAY reported that Christopher McDonald was arrested for driving while impaired early Wednesday morning.
According to the Highway Patrol, McDonald blew .15, almost twice the legal limit, during a breathalyzer test after being pulled over on 3rd Street.
Deputies at the New Hanover County Jail booked the actor around 4:30 a.m. under a $1,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 11.
McDonald is in Wilmington, also known as Hollywood East, filming a new movie called “The Squeeze,” according to “Wilmywood Daily.”
McDonald is known for his role as Shooter McGavin in the 1996 Adam Sandler movie “Happy Gilmore.”
