Guns stolen from Burlington Police vehicle

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Burlington police officer’s SUV was broken into while attending training in Charlotte on Monday night.

The officer reported that sometime between 8 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday, an unknown suspect broke the rear glass window of the vehicle and stole a Remington 870 shotgun and a Colt AR-15 rifle.

The vehicle was unmarked, with the guns in the rear, BPD Assistant Chief Chris Verdeck confirmed.

There are no suspects at this time. An investigation is ongoing.
