GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Guilford County Department of Public Health is up for reaccreditation this year, a state-mandated process that requires county officials to meet various health-care benchmarks and accountability standards.
The department was expecting an on-site assessment this week on Tuesday and Wednesday.
“Of course, Mother Nature had other plans,” said Merle Green, the county’s health director. “We rescheduled for March 12 and 13.”
North Carolina has required county health departments to achieve full accreditation since 2006. It was the first state in the country to do so.
