Guilford County Board of Education approves driver education fees

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Students will have to pay $65 to take driver education courses through Guilford County Schools if the system doesn’t get any state money for the program.

School officials also might consider suspending the driver education program this summer if there is not a funding source for it.

The Guilford County Board of Education narrowly approved those changes Thursday night while, in a related discussion, railing against legislation on charter school funding that they say would be devastating to an already bleak financial outlook for the school system.
