GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Greensboro woman who volunteers to help the hungry in the community is being featured on Oprah Winfrey’s website.

Ashley Benton is currently the “featured OWNer” of the week on Oprah.com.

She is featured on a portion of the website that highlights individual viewers of the Oprah Winfrey Network from around the world.

On the website, Benton explains who she is by answering several questions.

“I’m a lover of all people. I have a very caring heart, which leads me to feed the homeless people in my community each week,” she writes. “I went back to school to study social work to enable myself to help others. I love to travel and have fun!”

Benton started with the Green Team Ministry in Greensboro after her father died in 2011. She volunteers at Center City Park every Sunday, feeding the homeless.
