Greensboro man identified as person killed in Durham motorcycle crash

DURHAM, N.C. — A Greensboro man who died in a motorcycle accident in Durham on Friday morning has been identified, according to the News & Observer.

The State Highway Patrol said Randall Lamar Gregg, 44, was killed when he failed to stop for a red light and was hit by a tractor-trailer around 9:30 a.m. Friday.

Gregg was the longtime publisher of the Stokesdale Star. He founded eight news publications over the last 15 years, including The Raleigh Telegram, The Sun of Guilford County, The Triangle TechJournal, The Raleigh Downtowner and RTP-TV, among others, according to his obituary posted on Crowdrise by his brother.

He is survived by his mother and father, Grace and Stewart Gregg, of the Greensboro area, and brothers Scott and Eric of Raleigh.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 3 at 11 a.m. at the Summerfield First Baptist Church.
